The name "Light's Crossing" for that neighborhood probably refers to the nearby bridge over the Middle Branch on the old road to Sodom, now inundated by the reservoir.

Plaque by Landmarks Preservation Society of Southeast: "Family burying ground of Moses and Mary Fowler with Revolutionary War soldiers who camped on their farm. Restored 1976 by VFW Mahopac Post 5491, and Town of Carmel."

References: Frost 1894; Fisher p.45; Fisher #58; Buys p.236.

Tilly Foster, Putnam Co., N.Y. New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, No. 45, p.30, April 1914), cited by Buys in noting that Jeduthan King was actually in the nearby Ellis Burying Ground on Husted Rd., Southeast, so the other two King stones, both lost, could be in Fowler or Ellis. "The two latter tombstones have fallen to the ground and broken." - Dykeman, 1914)
